Greenworx180 recently completed a full lawn and landscaping renovation in Charlotte, NC, helping a homeowner refresh their yard after a pool installation. The project combined yard renovation, landscape design, sod installation, and landscape lighting, resulting in a beautiful, functional outdoor living space.
Project Overview
To start the renovation, the team extended the channel drain and tied a small retaining wall into the pool edge, ensuring proper drainage and a seamless transition between hardscape and softscape elements. Three 3-gallon Encore Azaleas with white blooms were planted in the back-right bed near the pool decking, adding color and balance to the design.
Next, Greenworx180 performed a full landscape lighting diagnosis to identify areas needing repair or replacement.
Sod Installation in Charlotte, NC
One of the most important aspects of the project was the turf renovation and sod installation in Charlotte, NC. Using a Harley Rake, the crew broke up compacted soil, removed moss, weeds, and roots, and applied 15 yards of nutrient-rich Lawn Max soil designed for fescue lawn installation. Proper grading and leveling were completed before laying sod to ensure a smooth surface.
To set the yard up for success, starter fertilizer, lime, fungicide, and insecticide were applied. Finally, approximately 4,850 sq. ft. of elite tall fescue sod was installed, giving the homeowner a lush, vibrant lawn.
