Transforming the Check Residence with Landscaping & Sod Installation

For this recent project, our skilled team completed a full range of landscaping improvements, including shrub replacement, tree pruning, sod installation, and the creation of a new bluestone walkway — combining beauty, structure, and long-term durability.
Front Yard Updates: Shrub Removal & Replacement
To refresh the front yard, we removed two large hollies and two medium hollies to make space for new greenery. In their place, we installed four 5’ Emerald Green Arborvitaes, strategically placed to boost curb appeal and provide privacy. Each installation includes our 12-month plant warranty, along with Bio-tone root enhancer and nutrient-rich soil amendments to promote strong, lasting growth. Following expert Emerald Green Arborvitae planting guidelines, we ensured that each shrub was positioned for optimal sunlight and drainage.
Backyard Enhancements: Tree Pruning & Play Area Safety
In the backyard, our team focused on safety and aesthetics by pruning a mature tree near the play area. We reduced both width and height to create a more open, functional space while preserving the tree’s health. Using proven tree pruning best practices, we shaped the canopy to encourage healthy regrowth and maintain a balanced structure.
Sod & Lawn Transformation
The final phase of the project focused on soil improvement and sod installation. We broke up compacted soil, added nutrient-rich Turf Max Soil, and graded the area for proper drainage and a level finish. Our team installed approximately 500 sq. ft. of Zoysia (ZEON) and 500 sq. ft. of fescue to create a lush, durable lawn. Following a Zoysia sod installation guide and tall fescue lawn care recommendations, we ensured each section would thrive with proper sunlight, watering, and maintenance.
